I've forgotten the password. What should I do?
Unfortunately in this case you should say goodbye to your data forever. We could have done "reminders" of the password or sending by email as the other applications do but it is a hole in the application which can be abused by the hackers.
The main rule: Nobody can access without a password. There are no ways to get a password in the nearest future.

Before booting I see a message «HDD status bad». What does it mean?
You specified this loader mode when you were encrypting the system disk. You have to enter the passwords and click on the "Enter" button after each one. After this the OS will start normally. You can change the loader mode on the "Setup" page.
What is the optimal mode of encryption?
The speed of encryption is "medium" by default. This setting is optimal. If you're going to run your computer during encryption, it'd be better to use a low speed. If not - you may use a high speed for a fast encryption.
What is the best kind of keystore file?
Secure Disk uses the steganographic algorithm to hide data in graphic (BMP, JPEG) and in audio (MP3, WAV) files. It’s better to create a keystore in an audio or graphic file to prevent hackers from finding and cracking it.
What if I move a keystore from one place to another one?
The location of a keystore is not important. You will specify it when you open the keystore. But you have to be aware that if you move the keystore file to the disk it encrypts, you will lose complete access to this disk. Always be sure that your encrypting keystore file is located on a different hard drive or disk C (the disk where you have your OS).
If I have lost or forgotten the passwords, how can I restore them?
The loss of a password means the permanent loss of data. There is no function for password restoration.
If I have accidentally deleted or lost a keystore, what will happen?
The loss of the keystore means data loss. You can’t access the data without the keystore. It’s also impossible to restore the keystore. Be very careful with the keystore file and make up a back up copy of it.
If I use a graphic or audio file as a keystore, may I modify it, for example, in the graphic editor?
No, you mustn’t, because the data in the keystore will be changed and you will lose access to the data.
Can I encrypt several disks with one key?
Yes, you can.
Can I encrypt a USB HDD and USB Flash Drive?
Yes, Secure Disk lets you encrypt both disks.
What happens if power supply is turned off while disk encryption/decryption?
It’s strongly recommended to avoid such situations. You may use UPS (uninterruptible power supply). You can read more about it in the Secure Disk documentation.
Can I encrypt RAID disks and dynamic disks?
No, Secure Disk doesn’t support the encryption of such disks.
If I have some encrypted disks and I uninstall the program, installing it back later. What will happen to the disks encrypted before?
Nothing will happen to them, if you have the keys these disks have been encrypted with.
